Beergarden

Repurposing the old to build something completely new.

At Beergarden, we were tasked with turning a ’70s gas station into an indoor-outdoor beer garden bordered by gourmet food trucks. Using salvaged materials, we created a one-of-a-kind place for friends to gather, music to be played, and pints to be clinked.

Fitting Into the Whit

Beergarden’s interior was salvaged from an old Marie Callender’s restaurant, which doesn’t seem like an ideal fit for a hip, new haunt in Eugene’s artsy Whiteaker neighborhood. But it was — it’s amazing how a little charring can transform oak. Beergarden’s outdoor dining area is furnished with Bavarian-inspired, long, communal tables to encourage beer- and kombucha-fuleled conversation.

A Logo Takes Flight

As we dug through the remnants of a Marie Callender’s gone by, we uncovered eagle after eagle. There were so many oak eagles in that place that the eagle became the de facto mascot for Beergarden. We decided to make things official by creating a PNW-inspired eagle logo. It’s flanked by “Eugene” and “Oregon” not only because Beergarden is proud of its little city, but also because Beergarden happens to be a very Eugene-style establishment. It’s a place where you can order meatballs and poke for lunch, and wash it down with lavender kombucha. It’s a little weird and a lot enjoyable.
