Sun Noodle
A Brand Worth Slurping
From Japan to Hawai’i to Los Angeles to New York to Rotterdam, Sun Noodle is an international brand that no one knows. Revered by the world’s greatest chefs but unknown to most consumers, Sun partnered with Drawn to elevate their brand and become more recognizable to ramen slurpers ’round the world.

A Noodle Machine and a Dream
A young man moved from Japan to Hawai’i in 1981 with nothing more than a noodle machine and a dream. He established Sun Noodle and went on to humbly supply some of the best Ramen shops in the world with his noodles. After 40 relatively under-the-radar years, Drawn was asked to help Sun Noodle become a household name.

Before and After
Sun Noodle built an incredible reputation among chefs and ramen shops around the world, but moving into conventional retail after four decades focused on foodservice required a careful balance of respecting the hard-earned reputation while letting the Sun better shine.

A brand worthy of beautiful noodles
We always begin by looking for the threads of personality and story and pulling them together. For Sun Noodle, those threads included figuring out what it meant to be a brand making noodles in the Japanese tradition with founders who called Hawai’i home. It also meant understanding how to communicate the humble yet proud culture that Sun had built, and empowering customers to make restaurant quality ramen at home.
