Designing spaces to gather for pints and every food palette

It all began with the Tap & Growler in 2012, which we designed to be a place where locals and visitors could gather to enjoy Eugene, Oregon’s best craft beers and delicious food — and then take a growler to go. In 2015, we teamed up with the guys behind T&G again to create Beergarden, just a mile down the road. Beergarden is an eclectic taproom surrounded by gourmet food trucks, built to offer patrons more fine, local brews and an assortment of fast casual dining options. Three years later, the band got back together to open PublicHouse, a food hall in downtown Springfield, which is just across the river (and, yes, home to the Simpsons). For each of these establishments, we designed distinct brand identities and unique interiors to match their respective neighborhoods. Scroll down to learn more about each.

Tap & Growler

We think that craft beer & wine pair best with a finely crafted environment — a comfortable place to enjoy a fine beverage with great company and conversation. We wanted Tap & Growler to be a third place where people would enjoy a pint and then take a growler to go, so we designed a warm, inviting space with a nostalgic nod to the prohibition era, when growlers were first popularized. Since this taproom sees a lot of kegs come and go, Drawn helped to develop a projected, digital menu system that looks clean, blends with the nostalgic environment, and automatically updates when inventory changes. Beergarden

At Beergarden, we were tasked with turning a ’70s gas station in an eccentric neighborhood into an indoor-outdoor beer garden bordered by food carts. So, we salvaged the interior from a very dated Marie Callender’s restaurant, retrofitted and charred the oak, and created Beergarden, a one-of-a-kind place for friends to gather, music to be played, and pints to be toasted.

PublicHouse

In 2018, the owners of T&G and Beergarden set their sights on a historic building across the river in the downtown of Springfield, Oregon that was starting to come back to life. PublicHouse is a family-friendly place to gather that includes food pods, a beer hall, an outdoor bar, outdoor eating spaces with communal tables, and a stylish whiskey bar. PublicHouse won Travel Lane County’s 2019 Destination Award, and was voted Top 10 Places to have a beer by Men’s Journal.
